Does Oxford Health Plans cover a nutritionist?

Yes. Oxford covers preventive nutrition counseling and medical nutrition therapy with a Registered Dietitian. Coverage details vary by Oxford plan and network; we check yours before your first appointment.

How to use your Oxford benefits with us

  1. Book online or call (347) 286-1530.
  2. Send us a photo of your Oxford insurance card.
  3. Before your first appointment, we verify your coverage for nutrition counseling (CPT codes 97802 and 97803) and tell you your cost — usually $0.
  4. Meet your Dietitian by video from home, work, or anywhere in New York.

What to expect

A 60-minute virtual initial consultation with a Registered Dietitian, a personalized plan, access to the Healthie food-journal app, and secure messaging between visits. Our Dietitians specialize in weight management, GI issues (IBS, low-FODMAP, celiac, IBD), Diabetes and Prediabetes, Heart Health, pediatric nutrition and prenatal nutrition.

Oxford questions

Does Oxford require a referral for a dietitian? Some Oxford HMO plans require a referral from your primary care physician; PPO and POS plans usually don't. We'll tell you if yours does when we verify your benefits.

Does Oxford cover virtual dietitian visits? Yes. Telehealth nutrition counseling is covered in New York the same as in-person visits, and all of our appointments are virtual.

Which Oxford networks do you accept? We are in-network with Oxford through UnitedHealthcare. Send us a photo of your card and we'll confirm your specific network and plan.
