How to use your Aetna benefits with us

  2. Send us a photo of your Aetna insurance card.
  3. Before your first appointment, we verify your coverage for nutrition counseling (CPT codes 97802 and 97803) and tell you your cost — usually $0.
  4. Meet your Dietitian by video from home, work, or anywhere in New York.

What to expect

A 60-minute virtual initial consultation with a Registered Dietitian, a personalized plan, access to the Healthie food-journal app, and secure messaging between visits. Our Dietitians specialize in weight management, GI issues (IBS, low-FODMAP, celiac, IBD), Diabetes and Prediabetes, Heart Health, pediatric nutrition and prenatal nutrition.

Aetna questions

Does Aetna require a referral for a dietitian? Not for most Aetna PPO and POS plans. Some HMO plans do — we'll confirm when we verify your benefits.

Does Aetna cover virtual dietitian visits? Yes. Telehealth nutrition counseling is covered in New York the same as in-person visits, and all of our appointments are virtual.

How many dietitian visits does Aetna cover? It depends on your plan. Many Aetna plans cover unlimited preventive nutrition visits; others set an annual limit. We tell you your exact count before your first session.
